Abstract: collection management, classification based retrieval, metadata management, and thesaurus construction, experienced through the STARCH project [3]. I will also refer to the promise Description Logics hold for realising "The Semantic Web", currently being explored in the OIL activity, and the subject of a paper in this workshop [6].
